The "Steam" was a legend in his own opening hours! Here he is having his pressure level taken - anthracite and tequila ready to stoke him if needed. ? Bill Innes, Taff "Steam" Jones, Dave Grant.

Tina Mercer looks very suspicious in this photo - you would think even that the boys are about to do something!!?

Surely this isn't evidence of a team member considering freeing a sizeable piece of advertising for trophy purposes!! See Club Photos to find out!

Panaga 55 - Yatchies 0

yatchiesgame.jpg

One of the few occassions the club gets to play 15-a-side, we travelled up to Jerudong International School (JIS)to play the Yatchies on Saturday 1st Sept (same day as the Tri-nations final). Having expected the usual superb facilities of JIS, the team was a little surprised to find bamboo posts being carried out onto the pitch as we arrived. However this was soon overshadowed by the change of mind and the use of traffic cones placed on the goalmouth of the football pitch!

Not to be perturbed, the teams accepted the minor lack of using a conventional rugby pitch and posts, and having lent 3 players to the Yatchies, we kicked-off in the usual Brunei sun and heat at 3pm.

The game was played over three 20 minute periods with the second period being split to allow a change of ends. Panaga soon established their dominance with Tristan Hinxman and Cobus van Oudtshoorn getting tries and Dave Gill stepping up to convert the ball over imaginary posts! With further tries by Bill Innes and Pete Francis, the game soon developed into a training event for the Crocs although the Yatchies were no pushover, often forcing the Crocs to defend their own line.

A good game for the Crocs with the new players experiencing the heat of Brunei. The team then travelled to the Yatchies Club at Muara Port for some light refreshment and to watch the final of the Tri-nations competition between Australia and New Zealand. A good day was had by all and hopefully an indication of further success for the Crocs in the future.

If anyone has any pictures please pass them on so they can included on the website.
